Cork Beats Stress – This Autumn Say YES to less stress

CORKONIANS TO STRESS LESS THIS AUTUMN!

Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Mick Finn, launches the Cork Beats Stress initiative today in City Chambers. The GAA, Cork City Council and HSE Psychology services in Cork have teamed up to
help the citizens of Cork to stress less this Autumn. Unique to Cork the delivery of Psychological Services such as this to local communities through a large sporting organisation is a new concept both nationally and internationally.

“I fully support this great initiative.   It’s imperative that we learn skills to manage stress to deal with challenges that come our way” says Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Mick Finn himself a staunch supporter of the Barrs GAA Club.  “We all need outlets to vent stress so involvement in sport, outdoor pursuits, music, drama, dance and art; etc. are avenues I am promoting in schools and among business. Taking time off social media, which can be extremely negative, helps too. I am especially delighted to see the collaboration between the Health Service, the GAA and Cork City Council to make this course available to everybody in Cork city”

The Stress Control Course will teach the skills to deal with stress. You can learn how to manage stressful thoughts, feel more relaxed, improve you sleep and how to deal effectively with stressful
challenges to give yourself a better quality of life as you move forward. The courses are free and open to everybody over 18 years who is currently experiencing stress or those who are.
