Brenda Barry is the Social Inclusion Programme Coordinator with Cork City Partnership, where she oversees the delivery and coordination of the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2024–2028. SICAP is a targeted, holistic initiative designed to address poverty and social exclusion at the local level by engaging directly with disadvantaged individuals, community organisations, and public sector agencies. The programme supports those most at risk of marginalisation by using a community development approach that fosters collaboration and empowers local communities. Before taking on her current role, Brenda served as the Coordinator of Friendly Call Cork, also a programme of Cork City Partnership. In that role, she managed the delivery of a vital phone-based support service offering confidential daily check-in calls to older people and individuals experiencing loneliness, isolation, or vulnerability. Brenda holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Youth and Community Work from UCC and brings a strong commitment to social justice, community development, and inclusive practice to her work.
