Applications for the Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion (FPSHP) which is due to take place in Cork this Autumn 2019 to Spring 2020, are now being accepted.

The aim of the course is to enhance participants’ capacity to incorporate sexual health promotion into their work through the development of their confidence, knowledge and skills in relation to sexual health.

This course is unique in an Irish context in terms of its content, length and approach to sexual health promotion. It is also unique in its blend of participant professions, including front line clinicians, teachers, counsellors, social workers, psychologists, community and youth workers and representatives from the physical and disability sectors, to name but a few.

The FPSHP course is accredited by the following professional bodies:

  • The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Category 1 (35 CEUs) Approved for Registered Nurses and Midwives
  • IASW Accredited
  • 60 IACP Hours Attended

The course is run 2 days a month over five months and the dates are as follows:

  • 10th & 11th Sept
  • 8th  & 9th  Oct
  • 12th &13th Nov
  • 3rd & 4th  Dec
  • 14th  & 15th  January 2020

Please note that the closing date for receipt of completed applications is Wednesday May 22nd at 1pm.

 Please note that due to the success of this programme we are always oversubscribed, therefore a fully completed application form is essential in order to progress to the second stage which is a telephone interview. Telephone interviews are held with all applicants who have submitted a completed application form.  The telephone interviews will take place the week beginning June 24th and places are allocated based on the outcomes of these interviews.
