This workshop is aimed at staff working in the HSE, Dept. of Education, other Statutory Agencies, NGOS, Community Groups and others who support families who have come to Ireland under the Refugee and Relocation Programmes. The content of the workshop will include:

  • Understanding trauma and PTSD in children and adults who are war survivors / refugees
  • The psychological impact of trauma
  • Practical Do’s and Don’ts when supporting families
  • The role of HSE mental health services and when to refer
  • Risk of secondary trauma in frontline staff working with refugees
  • How to protect yourself from secondary trauma

The workshop is FREE, but places are limited and must be pre-booked by Friday 8th March
