The seminar will be delivered by Professor Anita Bundy, Professor and Department Head, Sc.D., OT/L, FAOTA, FOTARA, Colorado State University. Dr. Anita Bundy rejoined the occupational therapy faculty at Colorado State University in January 2016 after spending 13 years at the University of Sydney in Australia. Much of Dr. Bundy’s research focuses on children’s play and “risk reframing.” While at the University of Sydney she became involved in boosting kids’ activity levels and social negotiation skills through play. Her research team made playground equipment from recycled materials such as hay bales, old tires, milk crates and Styrofoam coolers filled with sand and observed how the objects affected children’s physical activity and social interaction. The Sydney Playground Project is now an integral part of some Sydney schools.
