Clean Air – Healthier Ireland Climate and Health Report
Cork Healthy Cities in partnership with the National Climate and Health Alliance, Cork City Council, Dept of Atmospheric Chemistry UCC and Dept of Applied Psychology UCC launched in the Oireachtas an Air Quality Position Paper that was hosted by Deputy Jennifer Whitmore of the Social Democrats.

The report outlines that air pollution has no safe level and contributes to heart and lung disease, stroke, dementia, pregnancy complications as well as mental health issues and reveals the urgent need for government action to address this invisible health threat. Children, older adults, pregnant women and disadvantaged communities are most affected. Failing to act costs Ireland €4.4 billion annually in healthcare, productivity loss and reduced economic activity.
